Since its beginning in 2002 the golf outing has raised more than $1.25 million.

Rutter’s Children’s Charities raised over $115,000 to benefit local children at its 12th annual charity golf outing.

Since its beginning in 2002, the two-day outing has raised over $1.25 million for children’s charities in Central Pennsylvania.  The York Hospital, The Boy Scouts of America and the Shiloh UCC Early Learning Center are just three organizations that will receive a portion of the proceeds from this year’s outing to continue their work with children.

The York Hospital will use Rutter’s $37,000 donation to purchase a special ventilator for the neo-natal emergency room. The ventilator will provide life-saving care for the hospital’s newest arrivals.

Camp Tuckahoe, a Boy Scout and Cub Scout camp in Dillsburg, Pa. will receive $30,000 to create the Rutter’s Boating Center on the camp’s Memory Lake.  Rutter’s Boating Center will be used by more than 14,000 youth from York, Adams, Perry, Cumberland and Dauphin counties each year.

The Shiloh UCC Early Learning Center will use an $11,000 donation from Rutter’s to complete a playground in honor of two students who passed away. Rutter’s CEO Scott Hartman, became aware of the project after reading about it in local news.

“Reading about the boys, their families, the support needed to complete the playground and the positive impact it will have on the community, this is what Rutter’s Children’s Charities is all about,” said Hartman. “We’re happy that we can help the school complete their project and hope that it gives kids a great place to play.”

Rutter’s has been active in the central Pennsylvania community since its beginning in 1921. Today, under the family’s third generation of leadership, Rutter’s Dairy products are available across the Mid-Atlantic region and Rutter’s Farm Stores operates 60 convenience stores throughout Central Pennsylvania with Scott Hartman as president and CEO, Todd Rutter as president of Rutter’s Dairy and Tim Rutter as president of M&G Realty.
