Little boy learns to make pizza at Nice N Easy location.
Every 38 minutes Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child with a life-threatening medical condition in the U.S. and its territories.
In February, Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppe’s Pulaski location was asked to participate in granting a wish for a little boy named John.
John loves pizza. But only Nice N Easy pizza! So Nice N Easy employees Maryellen Haynes and Lori LaRue agreed to donate pizza for John’s reveal party.
While LaRue and Haynes were speaking about their donation, LaRue mentioned how it was too bad he could not make his own. As Haynes put it, her face lit up like the Grinch when he learned he had a heart and she said, ‘Why can’t he?’”
They invited John to the Pulaski Shoppe to make his very own pizza. He panned the dough, docked it and put his own toppings on, just how he liked them. After it was done cooking, he took it home to share with his family, even though he wanted to keep it all for himself.
LaRue and Haynes were invited to join the family at John’s reveal party, where he would learn that he was going to Disney Land and meeting his hero, Buzz Lightyear. LaRue and Haynes brought John a Nice N Easy goody bag filled with items to remember his experience by, including a framed picture signed by everyone at Pulaski.
“Little John touched our hearts and our souls,” Haynes said. “He is a handsome, strong, heartwarming little boy, and we were honored to get the chance to meet him and spend time with him on top of making one of his wishes come true. The crew and I found it so weird that this little boy’s love for Nice N Easy was so strong and his name just happened to be John.”
“It’s truly a company like yours that plays such an important, even critical, role in the success of our organization,” said Make A Wish Volunteer Wish Granter.
