Miguel Robirosa of Naples, Fla., left the corporate world to become his own boss as a 7-Eleven franchisee. He opened his first store last December in Estero. Robirosa’s second franchise, located in Fort Myers, is scheduled to open in April, and already he is looking for a third location.
“I researched at least 12 different franchise models,” he said. “I attended one of the 7-Eleven franchise seminars, and was surprised by how much they bring to the table—infrastructure, logistics, processes and systems, training, great products and knowledge of their customer base. The opportunity was very well explained. In my experience as a new franchisee, everything they told me has proved to be true. I’m very happy with the system, and hope to open many more stores.”
7-Eleven provides the land, building, equipment and a turnkey operation for its franchisees. Well-suited for families, women and entrepreneurs, 7-Eleven ownership also is ideal for retired or separated military veterans and others seeking second careers.
Among the 7-Eleven stores available for franchise in Southwestern Florida are locations in Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, North Fort Myers, Port Charlotte and Venice.
Independent business owners interested in converting their retail operation to a 7-Eleven store can apply through the company’s Business Conversion Program (BCP). BCP provides many benefits similar to 7-Eleven’s traditional, individual-store franchise model, while allowing an independent operator the opportunity to own or lease their store site. Upon agreement, 7-Eleven’s development team installs the company’s proprietary equipment and assists in converting the store to a 7-Eleven-branded location.
Through 7-Eleven’s military veterans franchise program, qualified veterans who become first-time franchisees will receive a 10% discount on the franchise fee for the first 7-Eleven store they franchise. This discount can range from $1,000 up to approximately $35,000, depending on the store.
