Fund to benefit 530 local college-bound students.
Stripes Convenience Store customers contributed more than $530,000 in just four weeks to its 2013 Stripes College Scholarship Fund campaign—far exceeding its goal of $400,000.
Customers purchased $1 Stripes College Scholarship Fund paper cut-outs during the December 2013 campaign to benefit local students obtain a college education.
In just the first year of its existence, the Stripes College Scholarship Fund will award $1,000 scholarships to 530 students in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. All funds raised from the in-store campaign will be distributed as student scholarships in the 2014-2015 academic year. Stripes Convenience Stores is underwriting all administrative costs to run the scholarship program.

Again, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers for contributing over half a million dollars to further the education of so many students.”
The four-week in-store fundraising campaign was held at all Stripes locations throughout the Stripes operating area from Dec. 2-29. The scholarship awards will be selected and managed by the participating community colleges and universities enrolled in the program.
