Ten Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes throughout Central New York are partnering with the Salvation Army to host Red Kettles in their stores.

“We are happy to partner with Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes who will host Red Kettles in their store during the holiday season. Money donated in each community will stay in each community to support The Salvation Army, through its programs to help those in need.  Our programs provide food, clothing, shelters for teens and young mothers, and youth programs, helping to improve lives in each community,” said Major Donald Hostetler, divisional commander of the Empire State Division of The Salvation Army.

“All of us at Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes are happy to partner with The Salvation Army in helping them to raise money that benefits the local communities that we serve,” said John MacDougall, president & CEO of Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes.  “We hope that when you shop with us from now until Christmas Eve that you take advantage of this opportunity to donate.  A little generosity goes a long way.”

The Salvation Army will have kettles on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, starting Nov. 14 at the following Nice N Easy locations:

•            Brewerton – 5565 Bartell Rd.

•            Canastota – 3388 Seneca Turnpike

•            Cicero – 6406 NY State Route 31

•            Clay – 8578 Henry Clay Blvd.

•            East Syracuse – 6392 E. Taft Rd.

The Salvation Army’s red kettles are the most visible of the Army’s fundraisers with monies raised supporting social service programs year-round. Many areas rely heavily on the Red Kettle Campaign to operate their programs at Christmas and throughout the year and between 40% and 50% of all public support for The Salvation Army comes during the critical holiday season.

A 2012 report by The Salvation Army showed that 81% of Salvation Army youth programs saw an increase in demand for service last year. More than half of these youth programs are at or beyond capacity and more than 40% were forced to make cutbacks.

Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes currently has over 85 convenience stores in Upstate New York.
