Partners with Jefferson City Oil.
Gulf Oil announced a new branded partnership with Jefferson City Oil Co. Inc., a distributor of petroleum products throughout Missouri for over 85 years.
The 10-year agreement returns the iconic motor fuel brand to communities in “The Show Me State” for the first time in two decades.
Jefferson City Oil Co. Inc., a family owned and operated company, has already begun converting gasoline stations in its service area to the Gulf brand, beginning with seven Bee Line Snack Shop locations. Two additional sites will also be announced and converted in the near future, with many more to come in the years ahead.
“The Gulf brand brings value to our company, said Tom Kolb, co-owner of Jefferson City Oil Co. Inc. “Gulf has a great image and is a trusted company with a very positive nostalgic reputation. We know that drivers will feel great about filling up their tanks with Gulf gasoline once again.” Tom Kolb is also past president of both the Missouri Petroleum Marketers Association and the Missouri Trucking Association.
“Tom and John Kolb, third-generation owners of Jefferson City Oil represent significant partners for us as we continue our national expansion and move back into areas of Missouri that haven’t seen the Gulf brand in over 20 years,” said Gulf Oil Senior Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Rick Dery. “We are delighted to join forces with Jefferson City Oil and their successful track record of providing their customers with quality products and services at competitive rates.”
Gulf Oil pioneered the concept of branded product sales in the early 20th century by selling gasoline in containers and from pumps marked with the distinctive orange disc Gulf logo. Customers during this period sought out Gulf branded stations because they were assured of the quality and consistency of its gasoline. Quality and consistency remain the hallmarks of the company.
Gulf Oil distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,500 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals, and more than 130 other supply points. Gulf Oil supplies gasoline, heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene through its terminal network.
