Freebies and deals abound.
National Coffee Day is this Saturday, Sept. 29, and many businesses are kicking off the celebration early to maximize a chance to sample their brew to customers.
While not all coffee chains have climbed on the National Coffee Day bandwagon—Starbucks, for example, has yet to announce its participation this year—many c-stores, QSRs and coffee shops are driving traffic with free beverages, MSN Money reported.
“National Coffee Day is the perfect occasion to recognize the important role coffee plays in people’s everyday lives, whether starting your morning right or keeping you running all throughout the day,” said John Costello, chief global marketing and innovation officer at Dunkin’ Brands.
McDonalds. The QSR giant declared National Coffee Week and began offering a free small coffee every day, starting Sunday, Sept. 23, at select East Coast locations.
Einstein Bros. Bagels. Einstein Bros. Bagels locations have also been celebrating coffee all week long. Customers can get 50% off specialty coffee drinks throughout the week. Each day brings a new discounted drink. On National Coffee Day, pumpkin-lattes are buy one, get one free.
7-Eleven. The c-store behemoth is calling Friday, Sept. 28—the day before National Coffee Day— “CofFREE Day.” Customers who pop into a participating 7-Eleven store between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Friday, receive a free large cup of hot coffee, cappuccino, latte or tea, while supplies last.
Wawa. The c-store chain is offering a free 16-ounce latte with coupon. To get the coupon, customers just enter their name and email address on the Website and check their inbox for the coupon. http://offers.wawaapps.com/
Caribou Coffee. Caribou Coffee locations nationwide are using National Coffee Day to debut Amy’s Blend coffee, which is set to roll out in October, with a discounted pricing structure: Small cups of Amy’s Blend coffee are free, a medium costs 50 cents and customers can buy a large for only $1.
Kangaroo Express. The Kangaroo Express convenience store chain—located in 13 Southeastern states—is selling its Bean Street brand of coffee for a penny on National Coffee Day.
Krispy Kreme. The doughnut chain is offering free 12-ounce cups of coffee on Saturday, Sept. 29, plus a chance to enter a contest to win free coffee for a year.
SavOn Stores. While SavOn isn’t technically celebrating National Coffee Day, the c-store chain in the upstate New York area is offering teachers with an ID free coffee every Monday morning through Oct. 29.
Dunkin’ Donuts. Dunkin’ has issued a coupon that allows customers to get a 10-ounce hot latte or 16-ounce iced latte for only 99 cents through Sept. 30. The drinks normally start at $1.99. Dunkin’ is also rolling out new flavors, a Twitter campaign and packaged coffee deals.
