MillerCoors announced its strategies and plans to increase sustainability within its company, which plans to focus primarily on responsibility, environmental stewardship, supply chain, people & communities and ethics & transparency.
The company’s newest report, “Great Things on Tap” gives details on its performance in these areas. MillerCoors has made progress toward its 2015 goals for responsibility, water and energy use, packaging, supply chain and more.
“We are taking steps across the company to ensure that we are sustainably building a stronger future for MillerCoors and the communities we serve,” said Tom Long, MillerCoors CEO.
The company has placed water stewardship at the forefront of its strategic environmental priorities. MillerCoors reported an overall water-to-beer ration of 4.07:1 in 2011, which was its lowest level yet. The company is also calculating its overall water “footprint” to see how, when and where water is used throughout the business and supply chain.
