The Par Mar Convenience Store in Fairmont, Va. hosted an event on Aug. 1 to support the Make-A-Wish Campaign, WBOY News 12 reported.
The OMEGA and Make-A-Wish campaign are selling “Wish Stars” for $1 at convenience and grocery stores all month long, with the proceeds going to help grant wishes for sick children, such as a trip to Disney World.
“It gives the families hope. It gives them something to look forward to. A lot of them, like the Disney World, it gives them something to look forward to. They take the trip as a family. Then they have their pictures and albums to show. It brings a lot of hope and joy and excitement to everyone,” said Jan Vineyard of OMEGA.
The OMEGA and Make-A-Wish campaign raised more than $200,000 last year and granted more than 60 wishes.
Par Mar operates 50 stores in Ohio, Virginia and Kentucky.
