Funds raised during four-week campaign will benefit 32 children’s hospitals.
Valero Corner Store employees and their customers once again showed their dedication to their communities by raising a total of $1,933,847 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals during its four-week fundraising campaign Sept. 6 – Oct. 3.
The campaign took place in all 991 Corner Store locations across the country. Funds raised will benefit 32 children’s hospitals across eight states.
Corner Store employees raised the funds by asking customers to purchase $1 or $5 coupon Miracle Balloon icons to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a charity that raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals. In addition to the Miracle Balloons, customers had an opportunity to purchase a “Glow for Kids” glow-in-the-dark bracelet for $1.
“These results would not be possible without our hard-working Corner Store employees who believe in this effort and really make a difference every year,” said Gary Arthur, Valero retail president. “I also want to thank our field management, and most of all, our loyal customers who give to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals faithfully every year.”
“We are proud to have Valero as a sponsor for the past 17 years. They have repeatedly demonstrated the ability to motivate and encourage their Corner Store customers to improve countless children’s lives,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “To raise close to $2 million during this tough economy shows Valero’s commitment and dedication to help improve their local communities. We appreciate and value our strong relationship with Corner Stores and their customers.”
Valero has been a partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1995, raising more than $14.5 million for children’s hospitals.
