Team Oil Adds A Subway Franchise

With a new car wash and maintenance shop in place, Team Oil Travel Center prepares to open a Subway franchise in early 2012.

Team Oil is adding a Subway franchise at its Team Oil Travel Center in Spring Valley, Wis., the Pierce County Herald reported.

The site was first approved for a Subway franchise in 2006, but Owners Eric and Tony Huppert already had their hands full with an important expansion. The Hupperts were busy adding a car wash, WESTconsin Credit Union suite, maintenance shop and office to the location.

Now with the previous expansion operational, Team Oil is set to make room for the new Subway Restaurant. The renovation is scheduled to include a dining area for 40, new restrooms, an expansion of the convenience store and an 18-by-20 foot retail lease area.

The Subway franchise is owned by Eric Huppert, and in preparation for the new addition, he and Carrie Vanasse, head of operations, have spent more than 40 hours doing online testing and working shifts at a Subway in River Falls to become more familiar with Subway procedures. Huppert also plans to spend two weeks at Subway owner school in Connecticut this fall learning Subway procedure and guidelines.

Team Oil partnered with Cleary Building Corp., the general contractor for the new addition. Team Oil Travel Center plans to continue to serve customers during normal hours throughout the construction; 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., 365 days a year.

The company anticipates that the Subway will be up and operational by the end of 2011, with a grand opening set for sometime in January 2012.

The retail suite in the new addition will be located between the convenience store and the Subway seating area and, at this time, it is still available for lease.  “We are looking for just the right business that will offer something we don’t already have that our customers will really appreciate,” Huppert said.
