“Steve Levey’s knowledge and understanding will enable MSA to engage more effectively with our manufacturing clients by consulting on programs and applications that are more wholesaler and retailer-friendly,” says MSA’s SVP.
After an extensive six-month candidate search, Management Science Associates Inc. (MSA) welcomes Steven Levey to the role of account director focusing on channel partner solutions.
As an extension of MSA’s commitment to deliver practical, value-evident solutions to the wholesaler and retailer communities, Levey’s appointment adds to MSA’s Leadership Team an established professional who brings direct wholesaler and convenience-retailer experiences that will accelerate the development of relevant tools and enhance relationships within the marketplace.
“Steve offers the best of all worlds, having held management positions most recently with the Buchanan Energy convenience chain and also with National Tobacco, Irving Oil and Pine State Trading,” said Suzy Silliman, MSA senior vice president and managing director of its largest division, Information Management Solutions (IMS). “His perspectives and experience throughout the demand chain play a critical role in our long-term strategy and will immediately help enhance today’s offerings of VendorExpress, Trade Programs Management and Assortment NaviGATOR.”
“Additionally, Steve’s knowledge and understanding will enable MSA to engage more effectively with our manufacturing clients by consulting on programs and applications that are more wholesaler and retailer-friendly. Steve is an enormous asset to the IMS Leadership Team,” Silliman said.
Levey most recently served as category manager for the 69-store Buchanan Energy LLC retail chain in Omaha and Chicago and has been a director of national accounts for the National Tobacco Co. Earlier in his career, Levey held category and account management roles at distributors, Pine State Trading Co. and Cumberland & York Distributors, and convenience retailers, Irving Oil and Universal Delaware Inc.
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, MSA works with some 1,000 distributors and 2,500 warehouses in supporting, among other processes, CPG manufacturer trade programs that deliver over $1 billion in trade payments to distributors and retailers every year. MSA does not own or sell distributor data, but rather has been managing it securely for more than 20 years for use in business processes that are authorized by both the distributor and its trading partners.
MSA distributor solutions include VendorExpress, the collaborative vendor relationship management platform that provides distributors and their suppliers 24×7 access to the most critical information needed for streamlined trading-partner processes. Trade Programs Management helps distributors track and achieve customer compliance with distributor-managed rebate programs. Assortment NaviGATOR is a scenario-building platform that helps distributors and retailers optimize their product selections for the greatest return.
