“We are eager to open this newest location and give our customers there a bigger, better in-store experience,” says president and CEO of Sheetz.
Sheetz is opening its first new store in Hagerstown, Md., in more than 10 years today, Thursday, Aug. 18.
Customers today are lining up to be one of the first 50 new customers in the store for a chance to win a $100 Sheetz Z-card and be among the first to enjoy the new Sheetz experience. The buzz about new Sheetz stores has gotten people out of bed to camp out at as early as 4:30 a.m. at stores recently opened in North Carolina and folks stayed in line at a new store in Pittsburgh for more than 17 hours! Customers can play games to win prizes and enjoy samples of Sheetz food and beverages.
The store sits at 191 Eastern Boulevard and doors officially open to customers at 11 a.m. today. All media and patrons are welcome to attend the festivities.
While Sheetz continues to scout out new markets for expansion the company sees Hagerstown as a great growth opportunity because they already have such a solid base there. “We opened our first Hagerstown store in 1982. That 30 year relationship with the community there is something we value greatly,” said Stan Sheetz, president and CEO, Sheetz Inc. “We are eager to open this newest location and give our customers there a bigger, better in-store experience.”
The 6,000 square-foot facility will offer fresh food items like the MTGo! and Shweetz Bakery lines of sandwiches, wraps, donuts and muffins, along with the signature MTO line of Angus beef burgers, premium grilled chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads, French fries, onion rings and more.
Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, a full-service espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista is going to be available at the new store. Customers can order hand-made specialty coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas – hot, frozen or iced.
“Sheetz has a legacy of innovation, customer focus and employee development,” Sheetz said. “The company’s mission today is on meeting the needs of customers on the go by providing fast and friendly service, quality products in clean and convenient locations.”
Sheetz is also proud of its tradition of giving back to the communities in which it operates. Especially important to the organization is finding ways to be involved with today’s young people. As part of the grand opening, the company will make a donation to Special Olympics Maryland. Sheetz has been a proud supporter of Special Olympics since 1992, making monetary and product contributions as well as providing event volunteers.
Sheetz operates more than 395 convenience locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina
