Mansfield Oil Co. was honored with PepsiCo’s 2011 Supplier of the Year award this month during the company’s annual supplier conference in San Antonio.
Based in Gainesville, Ga., Mansfield Oil supplies fuel products and services to PepsiCo, which operates a fleet of 100,000 vehicles throughout the U.S. Ranked as one of the Top 100 privately held companies in America by Forbes, Mansfield currently provides fuel and fuel automation systems to seventy Pepsi and Frito-Lay locations across twenty-six states. In addition to their fuel supply offerings, Mansfield has developed a nationwide Diesel Exhaust Fluid program for Pepsi that provides Yara’s Air1 DEF supply as well as storage and dispensing equipment for locations receiving new SCR equipped trucks as the company strives to reach its goal of a 25% reduction in fuel consumption by 2015.
Nominated by several stakeholders within the Pepsi Bottling Co., Mansfield was credited as a “strategic partner” for Pepsi. The presenters cited Mansfield’s pioneering implementation of a comprehensive fuel management program as a key to their operational success in the past year. Mansfield’s unparalleled hurricane and winter management solutions, as well as its “on call” support team, also made the fifty-four year old company the obvious choice for this award.
“Mansfield is honored to receive this award from PepsiCO. Through our partnership, we have created a strategy that alleviates concerns around supply while looking ahead and putting an infrastructure in place to manage PepsiCO’s future needs, such as Air 1 Diesel Exhaust Fluid that’s required in the company’s newer SCR vehicles,” said Mansfield’s Vice President of Sales Marc Helms. “Mansfield has assisted PepsiCo in achieving their goals for operational excellence around their fuel program while maintaining the exceptional customer service and innovation for which Mansfield is known.”
