Shell Oil Products U.S. has launched its Shell Saver Card, a new payment option that will provide its customers with a more convenient way to purchase with a direct link to their checking account. The card also offers savings on fuel purchased at Shell stations.
The company said it’s the first retailer to make the electronic check payment method available nationally to its consumers.
The Shell Saver Card is a non-credit payment product issued to consumers directly from Shell. It has no application fees and no annual fees, and is linked directly to the customer’s checking account.
The opening promotion for the card is offering discounts of 5 cents per gallon when the card is used at a Shell station, but after June 1, 2009, the savings will be offered at 2 cents per gallon.
What’s more, the card can be used for any purchases made inside Shell stores, the only exception being lottery tickets.
