A manager at a Sheetz store in Selinsgrove, Pa., spent more than an hour tending to an elderly couple involved in a traffic accident near the store, The Daily Item in Sunbury, Pa., reported.
Linda Gilson, a manager at the Selinsgrove Sheetz, spent more than an hour on Monday tending to an elderly couple involved in a traffic accident there.
Sunbury, Pa., residents Walter and Geraldine Herman, 89 and 87, got into an accident when Walter attempted to pull out of Sheetz and drove his vehicle in the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer, police said.
As the husband and wife sat shell-shocked inside their car after the crash, Gilson made sure they were OK, brought them water, called in transportation to take them home, helped them — one at a time — climb out of the car and even ferried their driver’s licenses and registration back and forth to police.
“It’s just all part of what we do,” Gilson told the newspaper after the Hermans were safely taken away. “I see a lot of accidents here.”
Gilson declined to say more about her good deed, and explained that Sheetz employees are coached not to speak to the media.
The elderly couple and the truck driver involved in the accident were not injured.
